The Orlando Business Journal is reporting that Stitch’s Supersonic Celebration, the interactive stage show that opened in Tomorrowland six weeks ago, will close on June 27. According to the report, Disney officials haven’t said why the show is closing so soon after its highly anticipated opening.
If the report is true, I’m honestly not very surprised. While waiting in the queue for Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress a few weeks ago, I was able to watch part of the show and I can’t imagine that it appealed to many guests. After all, the show takes place on a stage in front of a wide open plaza lacking both shade and seating.
I’m curious if/when the folks at Disney will make this announcement official via a press release and what details, if any, it will include.

This doesn’t surprise me either. When we were there back in May, we watched some of the show. It seemed to be a little much for young kids to understand and yes, the fact that there is no shade and no seating is a huge drawback and the reason we stopped watching the show. Tt was HOT in that sun!
